For as long as I can remember I have loved the style and glamor of the 1920s, 30s, 40s and 50s. I have been finding vintage fashion and selling it online since the dawn of eBay. In 2000 I had a little shop online selling vintage decor and clothing. I stepped into a vintage world that had me researching the history of fashion and the vintage lifestyle. I’ve always had a passion for the vintage life, a more simpler time, and making things from scratch with my own two hands. Clothing is not made the same way these days and it is proven with the detail and accuracy of the garments I find. Before 1950 most women made their own clothes or had them made by someone they knew. These garments took time to make and people poured their hearts into making them. They weren’t mass produced and mass marketed. If they weren’t made by the person who wore them they were made by someone they knew or even at the dress shop in town. I can always see how much the owners cherished them because they are exquisitely taken care of and almost always still in the person’s belongings or passed down to another generation to care for them. Try as I might I want to save all of them and show them off to you for the beauty they hold in their making. Come along with me as I document the things that I find throughout my vintage journeys. I know, if you’ve read this far and looked through my page you will see what I see and can appreciate the garments as I do. Feel free to contact me or comment on my page when you see something you like. And hopefully, I can show you the history and possibly the person who made the item and we can both learn more about an amazing time in Fashion history.
As you can see by the many sites listed at the top of my page I cannot possibly make up my mind which love I like to do more. One day I am traveling, the next I’m into vintage, the next I am remodeling a home, re-claiming a vintage piece of furniture, studying and playing around with chicken genetics and then I am out in my garden or cooking up a new recipe or canning my produce goodies. It’s all part of what makes me happy and I know there are others out there like me that have their hands in a few (ah hem… a few hundred) small little things that make them happy. Feel free to browse around and see all the “projects” I am currently working on.
